MultiVit Rx questions
Q. I have heard multi-Vit and mineral supplements should be separate prods-but now Multi-vit Rx prod combines the two?
   A. There is no right or wrong answer in terms of combining vitamins and minerals or taking them separately. There is also no general agreement in the medical or nutritional community as to the ideal dosage or combination of vitamins and trace minerals to supplement. Each person has a different diet and people live in different parts of the country or the world and what works for one person may not work for another. The body has an ability to a certain extent to use what it needs from supplements and most often get rid of the excess.

Why take a multivitamin supplement?
While many people get enough vitamins from a healthy and balanced diet, others should take a multivitamin supplement to help maintain a healthy body. Children and pregnant women need more vitamins than the average person, and may be prescribed a multivitamin by their doctors, says the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM).
Other candidates for a multivitamin include people whose illness prevents them from absorbing enough vitamins from food, or people who don't or can't eat enough vitamin-rich foods. Multivitamins are available in chewable tablets, capsules, tablets you swallow, and in liquid form. It's important to follow the package or doctor's instructions when taking a multivitamin, the NLM says. For more information on natural vitamin supplements.

Q. I have purchased a number of products formulated by Dr. Ray Sahelian and been very pleased. Now I have a question about your MultiVit Rx product. In this product is there any MSG or aspartame or any chemically related evil twins? My husband is has severe reactions to MSG and aspartame I have been looking for a good multi vitamin mineral product for him, but constantly run into the fact that these chemicals (for what ever reason) are added to most products on the market. He is like the canary in the coal mine... we do not consume food or products that contain these items and if he accidentally gets into something that contains it, he has severe headaches and a flu like reaction that can last several days. I have even found these chemicals in his prescription medicines... he would take the medicine and have a reaction, every time. When I did some deep digging on the net, I found these chemicals added to the medication he was prescribed. A change of medication eliminated the problem. I need to know if the MultiVit Rx is free of these chemicals are the capsules vegetarian and not animal gelatin? Also, do you sell a similar product that is enteric coated?
   A. MultiVit Rx does not have aspartame or MSG. The capsules are made of animal derived gelatin but the capsules can be easily opened by pulling on each side and emptying the contents in a glass of juice. There is no need for enteric coating. If the product is used with breakfast, it will moderate and balance the absorption.
